Our misson

You don’t have to worry: this mission statement will be very compact and to the point.
For me and my colleagues, three points are determining our work, motivation and attitude:
1) There is no logic in logistics (oldy but goody).
2) We need to meet the customers’ requirements.
3) Everybody working for us and/or with us must be treated fairly and with respect.
The phrase that there is no logic in logistics, has been my personal motto since the early days of my career. One of the best examples used to be the shrimps, caught in the North Sea by Dutch fishermen, transported to Morocco where they were ‘pulled and cleaned’, before they came back to The Netherland and were packed as ‘fresh’ shrimps…. Really??
Even the requirements of our customers are not always logical, but very often driven by specific timings from either their customers or hubs. There is nothing more satisfying than being able to meet these requirements.
Without drivers there would be no transport and we would not be able to have a company at all. Looking at the circumstances on the road, the impatience from other drivers, the increasing regulations and paperwork from the EU and local governments do not make a driver’s life easy. We have a lot of respect for them, that they keep on going day after day, week after week. Regrettably some companies where we load or off-load, do not see it that way and have no respect for drivers: we have said good-bye to those customers.
Same is valid for my colleagues. Some customers do not accept delays en-route. Don’t they drive themselves? Don’t they follow the news bulletins or traffic information? Or is that only valid for normal cars and lorries are excluded? There is no need to raise your voice to my colleagues, they only want to keep you informed and will try to find a solution with you.
The best example there was a customer, who was quite annoyed that our lorry was stuck in snow, whilst he himself could not go to work as he was snowed in.
Some of these situations make me think back of the novel 1984: some are more equal than others.
In other words, we will respectfully try in all circumstances to meet your requirements and deadlines at all times.
Thanking you for your confidence working with us.

What we stand for

On most websites, this part is vague and fairly standard.

When you have worked with us, you know this will not be a standarised message. We base our vision on reality rather than on dreams and phantasies.
Everyone is talking about the carbon footprint: we are working with lorries, which drive up to 1900 kilometers between 2 hubs, in 28 hours (yes double-men teams and a truck swap).

When we tell the customer, we have an alternative, but we have to add 48 hours to the transit time: they will not choose it.
When we tell the customer, we have an alternative, releasing less CO2 into the air, but we must increase the rate by 20%: they will not choose it.
When we tell the customer, that we can book his container on a very modern ship, which uses alternative fuel, but consequently the rate will be higher: they will most likely not choose it.
So what we do, is using the best planners with the best planning software, building our own database with important information, in order to plan as efficient as possible. We employ the best forwarders available, who can reposition our trailers to where we need them, avoiding empty-running and avoiding unnecessary pollution.
Yes, we do have all new trucks, with the latest technology on board, and we do check the tyre pressure of all tyres constantly, as well from the truck as the trailers.
Yes, we do try to integrate inter-modal solutions when it is possible and suits the customer.
And when we would be in the business of running a fleet of vans or small trucks and driving mostly locally, we would be able to do far much more. The development in that sector is enormous.
We cannot live without our drivers and staff. Honoring my father’s philosophy, we treat them as fair as we can, with good wages and excellent conditions. We have been doing this for more than 50 years and we will keep on doing this in the future.
Our vision is simple: give our customers the best possible service and make sure our drivers and staff are being treated well, so they are able to perform at their top of their ability. This, as well, we will keep on doing in the future.
The saying goes ‘ happy wife, happy life’, but for us it is ‘ happy staff, happy boss’.
